GWA Bathrooms & Kitchens is a wholly owned subsidiary of GWA International Limited; a Brisbane-based Australian managed company, with diverse interests in the building products industry with related companies including Dux Hot Water and Gainsborough Door Furniture. GWA employs more than 2000 people. The company known today as GWA Bathrooms & Kitchens, was founded in Adelaide in 1941 by Charles Rothauser. His technological innovation was the creation of the world’s first transfer injection moulder. In 1956 Charles Rothauser created the all-plastic cistern. It won the first of many awards for Caroma including the FH Edwards Laurel in 1956.
